We are pleased to advise the build-up of silt has now been removed from Lock 5 on the Glasson Branch.
Navigation along the lock flight will resume from 8.30am tomorrow, Thursday 2 November.
Update on 27/10/2023:
Please be advised navigation remains closed between Lock 1 to Lock 6 on the Glasson Branch of the Lancaster Canal due to excessive silt build up blocking Lock 5.
Our team are still continuing to work to remove the silt build up but due to the recent storm this has delayed works.
To ensure the safety of our customers, padlocks remain in place on Lock 1 and Lock 6 to prevent access on to the Glasson Branch.
An update will be provided Wednesday 1 November.
