ADVICE (Thursday 17 February 2022 until further notice)

We are currently experiencing high water levels between Long Eaton Lock and just the other side of Derby Road Bridge 6.

This has been caused by vandalism, with the removal of our boarding from the weir, which was keeping the water levels down while we carried out the essential maintenance works at Long Eaton Lock.

Our guys have been on site since first thing this morning and have re-instated the boards.  We also have pumps running, to pump the excess water away and water levels are now receding.

Please note the towpath and navigation are both currently closed at Long Eaton Lock, while the maintenance works are taking place.
