Update on 27/07/2023:
Due to recent high levels of rainfall, we have been able to replenish some water supply within Pebley reservoir.
The flight between Boundary Lock and Kiveton will be reopened at 9am Friday 28th July.
We will continue to closely monitor the available supply and forecast rainfall on a daily basis. Further information will be provided as we progress through the summer.
NAVIGATION CLOSURE (Friday 30 June 2023 until further notice)
Low rainfall and diminishing reservoir levels mean we have no option but to close the Chesterfield Canal from Boundary Lock 41 upstream, as we are unable to provide enough water to accommodate boat movements. The closure will commence on Friday 30th June. We will continue to assess water resources and advise on reopening when supplies are sufficient to ensure boat passage.
