The fallen tree has now been removed and boaters can proceed as normal.
Update on 29/09/2023:
The fallen tree, located 100 yards north of Bridge 51 on the Ashby Canal near Shackerston, is still partially blocking the canal; however, removal is imminent.
In the meantime, passage is possible with caution.
An update will follow Monday 2nd October, or as soon as its status can be confirmed.
Update on 28/09/2023:
The fallen tree, located 100 yards north of Bridge 51 on the Ashby Canal near Shackerston, is still partially blocking the canal.
Passage is possible for narrowboats with caution.
Our contractors will be on site Friday 29th September to remove the tree and a progress update will follow by 5pm.
