Lock 12, Whitley Lock
Update on 17/11/2023:
The power pack has failed, the assisted passage will not be able to go ahead until it has been repaired, the lock remains closed to user operation.
Our Mechanical & Engineering Team are on site today to try and rectify the issue, we will update this notice as soon as we have more information to share.
Update on 16/11/2023:
The lock will be available for NARROWBOAT assisted passaged only from FRIDAY 17th November between 10:00hrs and 14:00hrs daily until the lock can be brought safely back into user operation mode.
Staff and volunteers will operate the lock for any boat passage required, no requirement to book.
It has still not been possible to resolve the issue he issue with the failed power pack and the lock remains closed to user operation.
Our Mechanical & Engineering Team have been unable to rectify the fault and the lock is not user operable until the power pack is repaired. Further investigation and testing on site is underway.

Update on 15/11/2023:
It has still not been possible to resolve the issue he issue with the failed power pack and the lock remains closed.
Our Mechanical & Engineering Team have been unable to rectify the fault today and the lock remains closed until the power pack is repaired. Further investigation and testing on site is underway.

The issue with the power pack has not been resolved.

A power pack has failed making the lock in operable. Our Mechanical & Engineering Team have been unable to rectify the fault today and the lock remains closed until the power pack is repaired.

NAVIGATION CLOSURE (9.30am-4pm Monday 13 November 2023)
A power pack has failed making the lock in operable. our Mechanical & Engineering Team are on the way to site to rectify the fault and lock will reopen once the work is completed.
