A further update will be provided by Wednesday 14 June. Near Stoke Lock The police have now finished on site and boaters can proceed as normal. ADVICE (12noon-4.30pm Thursday 8 June 2023) There will be a police dive taking place this afternoon from 12pm until 4:30pm near Stoke Lock. Boaters are asked to proceed with care and follow advice on site. There will be markers in the water to guide boats round the site. Burscough Customer Service Facilities We are pleased to advise the toilet facilities are now back in use at Burscough Customer Service Facilities. ADVICE (4.45pm Thursday 8 June 2023 until further notice) Please be advised the toilet facilities at Burscough Customer Service Facilities are currently out of use due to being blocked. Contractors have been informed and we anticipate their attendance. An update will be provided Thursday 15 June. Submerged Vehicle The vehicle has been recovered from the navigation. The navigation is open. There is a sunken vehicle 20 meters upstream at the pinch point from the M62 bridge. Until the vehicle has been recovered Woodnook and Kings road Lock are out of operation. Please do not attempt to pass, we will update this notice as soon as the obstruction is removed. NAVIGATION CLOSURE (1pm Thursday 8 June 2023 until further notice) There is an on-going incident, the navigation is closed until further notice. We will update the notice when we have more information. Broad Street CSF The toilets are now back open again, apologies for the delay. ADVICE (10am Wednesday 24 May 2023 until further notice) The toilets are currently closed due to sewage issues on site. We are currently investigating the cause. The Elsan is not affected. Obstruction in navigation, due to vandalism RESTRICTION (12.15pm Wednesday 7 June 2023 until further notice) There is currently an obstruction(s) in the navigation between Lock 21 east to Lock 23 east that have been caused by vandalism of objects stones and poles thrown into the canal. Movement is very restricted. The team will be out to assess and to try and remove the objects from the canal. We will update the notice when we have further information. Pump Out, Tower Wharf Services, Chester We are pleased to advise the Pump Out has been repaired and is now back in use at Tower Wharf Customer Service Facilities on the Shropshire Union Canal. Please be advised our contractors have attended site and currently investigating the fault with the card reader at Tower Wharf Customer Service Facilities on the Shropshire Union Canal. Whilst a method of repair is being organised the pump out will remain out of use. A further update will be provided Wednesday, June 7. ADVICE (11.45am Monday 22 May 2023 until further notice) Please be advised the Pump Out station at Tower Wharf Customer Service Facilities is currently out of use due to card reader fault. Starts At: Blisworth Tunnel North Portal BOOKING INFORMATION (7.30-9am Wednesday 7 June 2023) Blisworth tunnel will be closed to traffic from 07:30, possibly until 09:00 on Wednesday 7th June for the passage of a widebeam boat travelling from Stoke Bruerne to Blisworth. Boats may enter the tunnel if directed to do so by a Trust representative at the tunnel portal or after 08:00 if no representative is present. Starts At: Lock 49, Northchurch Lock The navigation is now open as normal Due to vandalism Locks 49 and 50 on the Grand Union will be closed from 15:30 to 08:30 and the navigation will be closed at these times. This will be ongoing and updates will follow when available. RESTRICTION (1.45pm Tuesday 6 June 2023 until further notice) Please be advised that due to vandalism there is a navigation restriction between Lock 49 and Lock 50 on the Grand Union Canal. Water point out of order ADVICE (1pm Tuesday 6 June 2023 until further notice) The valve on the water point is broken therefore out of order, contractors have been instructed for attendance. Once the waterpoint is repaired the notice will be updated. Elsan, Sutton Weaver Swing Bridge We are pleased to advise the Pump Out has been repaired and is now back in use at Sutton Weaver Swing Bridge Service Facilities. ADVICE (11am Monday 5 June 2023 until further notice) Please be advised the Pump Out station at Sutton Weaver Swing Bridge Service Facilities is currently out of use due to the drain being blocked. Appley Lock We are pleased to advise that Appley Lock, Deep Lock on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal has been repaired and is now back in use. Please navigate through Appley Lock, Deep Lock on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal with caution. Navigation remains open; however, the ground paddle is currently removed for repairs.
