Updates to follow when available Hawkesbury Customer Service Facility The Elsan is now back open. ADVICE (10am Monday 20 February 2023 until further notice) The Elsan only is currently out of use due to a blockage. Please bear with us whilst we await our contractors attendance. Tree fallen across Navigation The fallen tree has been removed from the navigation and the canal is navigable. NAVIGATION CLOSURE (1pm Friday 17 February 2023) We have been made aware that a tree has fallen blocking the navigation in between Cottingwith Lock and the River Derwent. We will update this notice when we have attended and assessed the situation. Trees blocking navigation NAVIGATION CLOSURE (1.30pm Friday 17 February 2023 until further notice) We have had reports of several trees that have blown down blocking the navigation in this area. We will update the notice as soon as we have any information. Tree in navigation at Ripon Canal Basin to Bypass Bridge NAVIGATION CLOSURE (11.30am Friday 17 February 2023 until further notice) A tree has come down and is currently blocking the navigation. We will update the notice when the tree has been removed. Shower Facilities, Red Bull Customer Services Red Bull Visitor Mooring ADVICE (11.45am Friday 17 February 2023 until further notice) Please be advised the shower facilities at Red Bull Customer Service Facilities are currently out of use due to an issue with the boiler. All other facilities are still in use. Contractors have been informed and we anticipate their attendance on site Monday 20 February. An update will be provided Monday 20 February. Titchmarsh Downstream Landing Stage (Disused) ADVICE (Thursday 16 February 2023 until further notice) Please be aware that a fender is missing at Titchmarsh on the Thrapston and Wadenhoe – tree works ADVICE (Friday 17 February until Sunday 19 February 2023) Please be aware that tree removal works will be taking place at the Bridge 50, Mottersheads Bridge We are pleased to advise our methods in clearing the pollution have been successful at Bridge 50, Mottersheads Bridge on the Macclesfield Canal. The canal is free from pollution and navigation can now resume. NAVIGATION CLOSURE (2.45pm Thursday 16 February 2023 until further notice) Please be advised navigation is currently closed at Bridge 50, Mottersheads Bridge on the Macclesfield Canal following pollution incident. Our local team have attended the area and have put booms into place. An further update will be provided Friday 17 February. Approx 20ft from D/S Landing Stage at Castle Update on 27/02/2023: Contractors will be on site from Monday 27 February 2023 to start work on removing the tree from navigation and further communication will be issued once the tree has been removed in the meantime this area remains closed to navigation. NAVIGATION CLOSURE (Thursday 16 February 2023 until rescinded) Further to our navigation advisory notice of 24 January 2023, now that water levels have returned to normal, it can be clearly seen that the tree fallen into the river is obstructing at the very least 50% of navigation. Pump Out, Anderton Customer Service Facilities We are pleased to advise the Pump Out has been repaired and is now back in use at Anderton Customer Service Facilities. ADVICE (2pm Tuesday 14 February 2023 until further notice) Please be advised the Pump Out station at Anderton Customer Service Facilities is currently out of use due to broken nozzle. All other facilities are still in use. Contractors have been informed and we anticipate their attendance tomorrow. An update will be provided Wednesday 15 February. Tinsley No.4 Lock, Carbrook NAVIGATION CLOSURE (until 4pm Friday 24 February 2023) We would like to advise our customers that an extension is required to this stoppage. There were some delays at the start of the works with getting some equipment to site. It was hoped that the team would be able to make some time up to complete these works by 17/02/2023. However, this has not been possible and additional time is required to complete these works and allow the repairs to cure before we rewater the canal. These works will now be completed on 24/02/2023. We apologise for the inconvenience. A stoppage is required to carry out some masonry and gate repairs. Fenny Compton Waterpoint The water point has now been repaired. ADVICE (2pm Friday 10 February 2023 until further notice) The water point at Fenny Compton is out of action due to a leak. Our contractors have been contacted, so please bear with us. Huntingdon town bridge area Update on 11/02/2023: The narrowboats in the Huntingdon area have now been secured and the Navigation Notice has been rescinded.
