Lock 105, Fobney Lock

RESTRICTION (10am Wednesday 8 March 2023 until further notice)

Please be advised that divers will be carrying out emergency underwater repairs to the bottom gates at Fobney Lock 105

We will aim to let boats through when safe to do so, however there maybe delays whilst these works are carried out.

Please proceed with care and follow the guidance of the team on site.

Water Point, Tardebigge Wharf VM

Update on 13/03/2023:

The waterpoint has now been fixed and fully working.

ADVICE (12noon Tuesday 7 March 2023 until further notice)

The waterpoint has a leak which can’t be isolated due to the leaks location.

We have requested our contractors attendance, so please bear with us whilst we get the issue resolved.

Woodford Lock

ADVICE (Tuesday 7 March 2023 until further notice)

Please be aware that there are contractors working on site at
Woodford Lock.
The lock is still operational but please exercise caution when
navigating through the lock and heed any signage or instructions
provided by the contractors.

Hatton Top Lock Elsan disposal

Update on 10/03/2023:

The Elsan is now back open for use.

ADVICE (9.45am Thursday 2 March 2023 until further notice)

The Elsan is currently out of order due to a blockage.

Please bear with us whilst our contractors attend to this issue.

Roxton Lock

Updated on 9/03/2023:

The works to remove the protruding bolts at Roxton Lock has now been completed therefore our updated navigation advisory notice issued on 26/2/22 is rescinded.

Please be aware contractors will be on site at Roxton Lock on Thursday 2
March 2023 to undertake work to remove the protruding bolts.
Navigation in this area will still be possible but boaters are requested to
proceed with caution and follow any instructions which maybe are issued by
the contractors.

St Neots Lock

ADVICE (Thursday 2 March 2023)

Please be aware contractors will be on site at St Neots on Lock on Thursday
2 March 2023 to undertake some health and saftey essential work.
Navigation in this area will still be possible but boaters are requested to
proceed with caution and follow any instructions which maybe are issued by
the contractors.

Winkwell Swing Bridge 147

Update on 02/03/2023:

Repairs to the bridge have been completed and it is now operational.

Navigation is open.

NAVIGATION CLOSURE (6.15pm Wednesday 1 March 2023 until further notice)

Navigation closed due to a mechanical fault with swing bridge.

Knowle Elsan
Lock 51, Knowle Top Lock

ADVICE (4pm Wednesday 1 March 2023 until further notice)

The Elsan is currently out of use due to a blockage.

Our contractors have been contacted so please bear with us whilst we get this attended to.

Starts At: Blisworth Tunnel South Portal
Ends At: Blisworth Tunnel North Portal

ADVICE (7.30-9am Wednesday 1 March 2023)

Blisworth tunnel will be closed to traffic from 07:30, possibly until 09:00 on Wednesday 1st March for the passage of a widebeam boat travelling from Stoke Bruerne to Blisworth.  

Boats may enter the tunnel if directed to do so by a Trust representative at the tunnel portal or after 08:00 if no representative is present.

Lock 12, Hazelford Lock

Update on 09/03/2023:

Due to the continued work over the last few days by our local maintenance team, the essential repair works at Hazelford Lock have been completed and we are pleased to advise that the lock lighting is now working as normal. 

ADVICE (Tuesday 28 February 2023 until further notice)

Due to essential repair works taking place to the column lights at Hazelford Lock, the lock lighting is currently out of action.  

The works should take about a week to complete and we will update the website as soon we have more information.  

Please proceed with caution and be mindful of the temporary lack of lighting at this site. 

Alwalton Lock

Update on 3/03/2023:

The navigation advisory notice issued for low levels at Alwalton Lock on the River Nene on 27/02/2023 is now rescinded as river levels have been restored.

ADVICE (Monday 27 February 2023 until further notice)

We are aware of low water levels in the Alwalton Lock area. The reason for this has now been resolved but river levels will remain low for the time being.
We will observe the levels going forward and this notice will be rescinded once the usual river levels have been restored. If navigating near this area, please do so with caution.

Selby Rail Bridge – Unable to swing

RESTRICTION (3pm Monday 27 February 2023 until further notice)

We have been informed by Network Rail that Selby Rail Bridge is presently unable to swing.

Vessels not requiring a swing can still pass. For details of available headroom please contact the bridge operator on 0330 858 7749 before planning passage.

Network Rail maintenance teams are attending and will reopen the bridge as soon as circumstances permit.

This notice will be updated as soon as further information becomes available.

Swinton Sanitary Station closed – Out of Order

ADVICE (12noon Tuesday 28 February 2023 until further notice)

Please be advised that the toilet at Swinton sanitary station is currently out of order, contractors are aware and we will update the notice, when they have attended. 

Bridge 181, Snaygill Swing Bridge

Update on 26/02/2023:

The bridge has now been repaired and tested. Navigation has reopened.

NAVIGATION CLOSURE (5pm Saturday 25 February 2023 until further notice)

The swing bridge currently cannot be opened to boat traffic due to damage to the swinging mechanism. A team have attended but were unable to carry out a repair on the spot.

The team will return in the morning, Sunday 26th February with further equipment and materials, to attempt to swing the bridge for boat traffic and carry out a repair. This notice will be updated with further information as soon as possible
