A 14-hour run around the Isle of Wight has raised more than £2000 for The Rivers Trust. Lucy Wood reports…
The Foresters Friendly Society’s head of insurance operations, Grant Streader, took on the epic 106km Isle of Wight Challenge in aid of the organisation.

He ran 109.55km, tackled 1724m of elevation, and crossed the finish line in 14 hours, placing 67th out of thousands of participants.
In Grant’s own words: “If anyone is thinking of running close to 110km around the Isle of Wight at any point – don’t. It hurts!”
“Thanks to his impressive effort, more than £2,000 has been raised to restore our rivers and support our mission of wild, healthy, and natural rivers,” said the trust.
