Update on 18/08/2023:
Due to delays in manufacturing the new footbridge, the bridge won’t be installed on 10/09/23, so the navigation and towpath will remain open.
The new footbridge is expected to be installed at some point in October. We will provide further information as soon as we have an update from contractors.
Original message:
Third party work contractors are installing a new footbridge south of Spring Hill Bridge from 10/09/23 to 11/09/23. The canal and towpath will be closed from dusk till dawn.
The canal will be closed from Railway Bridge, Eyre Street Junction and Spring Hill Bridge and the towpath will be closed from Eyre Street Basin Bridge and Spring Hill Bridge.
A diversion route will be in place. Signage, fencing and marshals will be used to manage any traffic.
