Rotherham Town Lock – Assisted passage
Update on 25/08/2023:
The problem of the build of silt at the gates has been cleared.
Assisted passage is no longer needed and the locks are operational.
Update on 10/08/2023:
Due to a build up of silt the gates are extremely difficult to open, therefore we are offering assisted passage until resolved between the hours of 8.30am – 3pm.
Passage must be booked at least 24 hours in advance by calling the customer service team on 0303 040 4040 Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm
RESTRICTION (1.45pm Wednesday 9 August 2023 until further notice)
One of the gates has failed therefore can not be opened fully meaning the lock can not accommodate wide beams at this time. Narrow boats only.
We will update this notice once a repair has been completed.
