Update on 11/11/2022:
We are pleased to advise the bookings along the Summit Lock Flight will resume tomorrow, Saturday 12 November, following a temporary repair to Lock 34 on the Rochdale Canal.
Our team are now waiting on replacement parts to be able to fully repair the paddle and notice will be provided should a further closure be required.
Update on 08/11/2022:
Our local team have been to Lock 34 on the Rochdale Canal today to further investigate the works required to repair the broken paddle. Unfortunately, the works are more complex than anticipated and we have not been able to carry out a remedial repair. We are now looking in to alternative methods.
Bookings along the Summit Lock Flight on the Rochdale Canal remain suspended and our North West Customer Support team continue to speak with those affected.
A further update will be provided by Friday 11 November.
NAVIGATION CLOSURE (3pm Friday 4 November 2022 until further notice)
Please be advised bookings along the Summit Lock Flight on the Rochdale Canal are currently suspended due to a broken paddle at Lock 34.
Our North West Customer Support Team will be contacting all those with an upcoming passage to re-arrange to a later date.
Our teams are currently organising a repair and are hopeful to be onsite early next week. A further update will be provided by Tuesday 8 November.
