Bridge 88, Red Hill Street Bridge to St. Vincent Street

Correction to previous update: The canal will be narrowed in width by 2m to accommodate the 2m wide pontoon that will be in the canal near to Bridge 88, Red Hill Street Bridge, leaving approx. 9m for navigation.
RESTRICTION (Monday 4 September until 7pm Friday 10 November 2023)
Third party works to repair the third-party boundary wall between Bridge 88, Red Hill Street Bridge and the Towpath Access Point off St. Vincent Street on the Rochdale Canal will commence on Monday 4 September, with a proposed end date on 10 November 2023.
The towpath will remain closed until these works are complete. The canal width will be restricted to 2m during the above dates as a pontoon will be placed within the canal near to Bridge 88, Red Hill Street Bridge to assist with the repairs.
