Update on 03/02/2023:
Our local team has successfully cleared the tree branch and Holme Lock can now be self-operated again.
Update on 03/02/2023:
Our local team attended site yesterday, but were still unable to remove the large tree branch which is blocking gate 2 of Holme Lock.
They will be back on site this afternoon, to try and clear it using one of our workboats.
In the meantime, the lock is still not self-operational. Anyone wishing to come through Holme Lock, please ring 0303 040 4040 and we will do our best to assist with your passage.
As soon as we have more information, we will update the website accordingly.
Thank you for your continued patience, while we try to get this resolved as quickly as possible.
NAVIGATION CLOSURE (Wednesday 1 February 2023 until further notice)
There is a large tree branch trapped in gate 2 of Holme Lock.
Trust representatives have tried to flush it out, but unfortunately it is wedged in and needs further equipment to pull it out.
Due to this issue with the tree branch, it does mean that the lock cannot currently be self-operated.
We are trying to organise the removal of this tree branch as quickly as possible and as soon as we have a time scale, our website will be updated accordingly.
In the meantime, if you need to travel through Holme Lock, please contact 0303 040 4040 and we will do our best to arrange for a lock keeper to assist with your passage.
