Lock 39, Bank Newton 3rd Lock
RESTRICTION (8am Monday 2 October until 4pm Thursday 5 October 2023)
There is currently an ongoing leak at Lock 39 at Bank Newton on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal. As part of our Leeds & Liverpool Leak Reduction scheme, we will be undertaking Grouting repairs to the leaking Lock.
The leak through the chamber wall exists at both the offside and towpath side downstream approach walls. Our contractor will be installing grout behind the chamber wall of the lock.
Boaters will still be able to pass through the Lock however they should expect a short wait time as we will have a team working on side of the Lock trying to stop the leak.
We will provide an update on Thursday 5th October at 10am to confirm that the works will be completed by 16:00hrs.
