TOWPATH CLOSURE (7am Monday 22 May until 7pm Friday 14 July 2023)
Please be advised that third-party contractors will be onsite between Bridge 99, Penny Street bridge and bridge 100, Friarage Changeline bridge on the Lancaster Canal.
The third-party contractors will be carrying out masonry repairs to the canal side elevation of the Gatehouse building. For the safety of our users, the towpath will remain closed and diversion signage routes will be in place.
Whilst the navigation will remain open, we politely request all customers to approach the area with caution and be prepared to stop if necessary.
Please take note of the signage and to listen to any advice that may be given by the team onsite.
