NAVIGATION CLOSURE (8am Monday 8 January until 4pm Thursday 29 February 2024)
After reviewing the post-Christmas stoppage programme, to reduce customer impact, we have now merged two navigational closures in the same location.
To enable us to do this we have bought the closure at Warth Mill embankment forward to align with this closure on the Diggle Flight.
To clarify, the installation of the concrete foundation and wash wall rebuild above lock 32 West will now be done the same time as the refurbishment of Locks 32/31/30 with replacement of the damaged lock bridge at lock 31.
Please note the whole flight will be closed for water control reasons.
The start date for both pieces of work will be the 8 Jan 2024 and the navigation will be open on the 1 March 2024.
The towpath between Diggle portal and lock 32 West will need to be closed for the works, the rest of the towpath on the Diggle flight will remain open.
