RESTRICTION (9am-4pm Wednesday 7 June 2023)
There is significant leakage through the gates and clapperboards at the head of the lock. As part of our repair program we are going to improve the sealing of the head gate. This will involve lowering the pound and fitting stop planks. Boats won’t be able to go through the lock at this time. We will make sure anyone wanting to get through the pound before we start can and customers will be able to go through after work finishes around 3-4pm. We have scheduled this on Wednesday in order to hopefully minimise the disruption to our customers travelling to or from the Standedge tunnel for their bookings. If you could please take these works into account when planning your journey, thank you. We will update this notice if there are any changes to our program.
