Due to the raised supporting timber fitted to the top of the Top gate tow path balance beam repair, we advise that long handled windlass should not be used to operate the gate paddle and only the standard size widlass is suitable.
All other ground and gate paddles at lock 44 are suitable for both lengths of windlass.
