Water levels on the Erewash canal have returned to normal. The navigation is now open.
Update on 25/08/2023:
Our local team has been running water all day, but unfortunately the levels have not risen sufficiently to be able to re-open the Erewash Canal between Hallam Fields Lock and Stanton Lock.
We will continue with the task of water control going into the weekend and are optimistic that levels will be back to normal by the end of the day tomorrow.
Boaters remain unable to travel along this section at this moment in time, but we will update this notice tomorrow afternoon with more information.
NAVIGATION CLOSURE (Thursday 24 August 2023 until further notice)
We are experiencing low water levels on the Erewash Canal between Hallamfields Lock and Stanton Lock.
Our local team is currently doing water control, to bring the levels up as quickly as we can.
