Gringley Lock- Upstream Towpath Side Paddle
Lock 61
Update on 27/01/2022:
Passage through the lock is possible using the upstream offside ground paddle.
We will be carrying out further investigations on the upstream towpath ground paddle culvert. We believe the culvert is obstructed, contractors are attending in early February to undertake a survey.
Update on 25/01/2022:
Divers have completed their investigations today.
Unfortunately it was not possible to carry out a full repair, and passage through the lock is not possible.
Further investigations are required and we will update this notice as soon as a date is confirmed for these further works.
ADVICE (2.15pm Monday 20 September 2021 until further notice)
The upstream towpath side paddle at Lock 61, Gringley Lock is out of order, therefore skippers of all craft are advised to use the offside lock paddle.
Repair works are being planned in to resolve the issue and once a date has been confirmed this notice will be updated accordingly.
Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
