THE Stafford Riverway Link Artefacts Exhibition, displaying artefacts unearthed at the Baswich site by volunteers, is on the move. You can catch it at Rising Brook Community Library, in Merrey Road, Stafford, ST17 9LX, until Saturday, March 28. As reported, the Stafford Riverway Link CIC is a canal restoration group aiming to reconnect the county town of Stafford to the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal at Baswich.
While clearing and excavating the site at Baswich, volunteers unearthed dozens of artefacts from the ground, and an exhibition of these discoveries has been touring libraries in the area since February last year, bringing to life the history of the site and shining the spotlight on the Baswich lock keepers and their wives.
