THE UK & Ireland Lakes Network (UKILN) Conference 2025 will take place on October 14/15 at the Killarney Plaza Hotel and Spa, Co. Kerry.

Hosted by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA Ireland), the two-day conference, with the theme; Mirrors of Change: Reflections on Irish Lakes Past, Present and Future, will unite individuals and organisations passionate about the protection, restoration and celebration of lakes and their catchments.
Killarney National Park, a vast expanse of rugged mountainous land dotted with lakes, and the first national park to be established in Ireland, is the stunning backdrop for a programme of talks, workshops, field visits and networking.
This is the third time that Ireland has hosted the UKILN Conference and also commemorates three key milestones: 50 years since the first national survey of Irish lakes; 40 years since the first State of the Environment report; and the recent 2024 release of the publication, Lakes in Ireland – Mirrors of Change, which highlights the urgent need for radical changes in land use and the prioritisation of lake protection.
