We are pleased to advise the works at Tyle Mill Swingbridge have now been completed therefore the navigation is open.

NAVIGATION CLOSURE (8am Monday 6 November until 6pm Thursday 30 November 2023)
West Berkshire Council would like to take the opportunity whilst the canal is closed at Lock 96, Padworth, to add in this additional stoppage to the Winter Works Programme.
They plan to do essential repairs to Tyle Mill Swing bridge between the dates of 6th November 2023 and the 30th November 2023. The bridge will be in the closed position whilst the works are being carried out, consequently closing the navigation.
They hope to have the canal open as soon as possible and cause minimal disruption to customers by doing the work whilst the canal is already closed.
