We are pleased to advise the tree obstructing navigation has been removed and the canal is now open between Bridge 12A and Bridge 13, Gilbert Bank Bridge on the Peak Forest Canal.
Update on 30/10/2023:
Please be advised navigation remains closed between Bridge 12A and Bridge 13, Gilbert Bank Bridge on the Peak Forest Canal due to a windblown tree.
Unfortunately, due to the location of the tree and the size of the root plate, specialist equipment is required in order for our contractors to safely remove the obstruction. We are currently organising this with our contractors, however it is anticipated they will be onsite next week.
A further update will be provided Friday 3 November.
