Brandon Lock
Update on 27/10/2023:
This notice has now been rescinded.
Update 25/10/2023:
Please note following the recent heavy rainfall and high river levels, Brandon Lock will be closed to allow the lock to be reversed in order too discharge the high water levels upstream. This means that the locks ‘v’ door gates will be chained back and locked off and the guillotine gates placed in flood mode making the lock inoperable to the public and not open to navigation traffic.
We will revert them back to normal operation for navigation as soon as the weather risk has diminished and flows and river levels allow.
ADVICE (Wednesday 25 October 2023 until rescinded)
Levels at Brandon Lock are currently extremely high and there is a blockage at the entrance to the upstream guillotine gate. This is passable with caution once the levels have subsided.
