Update on 26/10/2023:

We have received a further update regarding the replacement of the pontoon at Hebden Bridge.

The facilities are now accessible from the land and from a boat as the section in front of the door has now been replaced.

Work is still ongoing to the replacement of the rest of the wooden pontoon and this will not affect access.

Update on 23/10/2023:

Work to repair the pontoon decking at Hebden Bridge services is taking longer than anticipated due to the timbers being in a worse condition than first thought.

There is currently only access to the pontoon from a boat, on the canal side. There is no access to the facilities from land as this is currently fenced off to protect the work site.

The team will be returning back to site on Wednesday to continue repairs and will be able to assist boaters wishing to use the facilities from land on Wednesday.

Update on 19/10/2023:

We apologise for the poor wording of the last update.

To clarify, access to the elsan and pumpout at Hebden Bridge is not currently available whilst the pontoon is being repaired, but the works should be completed on Friday 20th and access will once again be available.

The team on site will assist boaters in the interim where possible. We also apologise for the lack of advance notice of this temporary closure, this was down to a breakdown in communication between teams in the Trust.

ADVICE (12noon-5pm Thursday 19 October 2023)

The facilities are open at Hebden Bridge while the pontoon decking is being fixed.

Operations staff are on site throughout the day should rubbish wishes to be disposed of, to moor up on the offside and come over the bridge. Access to water points, staff with guide the boaters.

Access to the Elsan and water pump will be available tomorrow as the most damaged section of the pontoon is being worked on today and boaters will be able have use tomorrow.

Staff are on site to assist as best they can.
