Update on 19/10/2023:
With the heavy rain forecast over the weekend, we’re most likely not going to be able to open navigation until Monday. (23/10/23)
However, we will continue to monitor the situation, and update the notice if we are able to open navigation any earlier than this.
NAVIGATION CLOSURE (8am Thursday 19 October 2023 until further notice)
Due to the canalisation of the River Salwarpe between these two locks and the heavy rainfall we have had over night, we have had to lock off the locks to prevent boaters attempting passage whilst the river is in flood.
We will monitor the situation and open the canals as soon as it is safe to do so.
