The tree has been removed and the canal is open.
Update on 04/10/2023:
Contractors were unable to remove the tree yesterday as further equipment is needed to remove the tree.
Difficulties were had as parts of the towpath were needed to be sectioned off to set up the equipment to retrieve the tree, but due to the high footfall of towpath users, they were unable to set up accordingly and safely.
The contractors are having to look into different methods to retrieve the tree from the navigation.
We are aware that this is an inconvenience to boaters wishing to pass and we apologise for the issue.
We are doing our best to resolve this as soon as possible.
Update on 03/10/2023:
Contractors will be attending the site this afternoon to remove the tree. CRT apologises for any inconvenience caused.
