Pound between Lock 72-Shipley lock and Lock 71 Stenson’s Lock
Update on 04/10/2023:
The water levels are now back to normal and boaters can proceed as normal.
Update on 02/10/2023:
Our operatives removed a tree log over the weekend, that was impeding closure of the top gate paddles.
The water level in the pound between lock 72 and lock 71 is slowly getting back to normal and hopefully will be back to navigable conditions later on today.
We will update this notice at the end of today or as soon as we have further information.
NAVIGATION CLOSURE (7pm Saturday 30 September 2023 until further notice)
Lock 71-Stenson’s Lock on the Erewash Canal is not holding water lowering the water levels in the pound above making it non-navigable. Our Engineers will look into resolving the issue next week. Thank you for your patience.
