Update on 04/10/2023:
The repairs to Stenson lock ground paddle have been completed today.
The lock can now be operated as normal.
Update on 03/10/2023:
The team will be on site between 8am and 11am on Wednesday 4th October to carry out the necessary repairs to the ground paddle on Stenson lock.
The repair will take place on site and may require some welding.
There may be delays for boats at the lock while these repairs are taking place.
ADVICE (4pm Friday 29 September 2023 until further notice)
A damaged offside ground paddle has been reported at Stenson’s Lock (6) on the Trent and Mersey Canal.
The paddle will not operate.
We kindly ask boaters to be patient; although slow due to its depth, the lock will eventually equalise.
Our team will be on-site on Monday to assess the problem and schedule a repair.
We will update this message by 5 pm on Tuesday, 3rd October.
