Lock 71 – Stenson’s Lock
Update on 29/09/2023:
Water levels are returning to normal at Stenson’s Lock, 71, on the Erewash Canal near Cotmanhay. This will continue to be replenished over this evening; however, we ask boaters to please refill the lock and keep it full when they leave. The fault caused by the damaged paddle is scheduled to be fixed next Friday, 6th October, and an update will follow by 5 pm later in the day.
NAVIGATION CLOSURE (11am Friday 29 September 2023 until further notice)
Low water has been reported at Stenson’s Lock, 71 on the Erewash Canal near Cotmanhay. This is due to a broken paddle on the lock.
Our local operations team are aware of this and will be attending the site as soon as possible.
Boaters are advised to avoid this section of the navigation while we assess the fault.
An update will follow by 5pm today or when more information is received, whichever is soonest.
