Please be advised third-party divers will be in the canal between Bottom Lock, Stanley Dock Arm to Bridge 1, Railway Bridge on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal to carry out an inspection / survey of the old pump house abstraction pipe, surrounding walls and canal bed.
Whilst navigation will remain open, we politely request all customers to approach the area with caution and be prepared to stop to allow the equipment to be moved for safe passage.
Towpath customers may also be asked to wait for safe access to be made.
We anticipate a wait of no longer than 30 minutes. Please listen to any advice that may be given by the third-party contractors and take note of the signage onsite.
