Lock 8, Mayroyd
NAVIGATION CLOSURE (9am Saturday 29 April 2023 until further notice)
The pound above Lock 8 at Mayroyd has been drained overnight.
We have an Operative working upstream to replenish the levels which involves moving water down from the summit. Lock 8 has therefore been chained-up to prevent further water loss whilst this recovery operation takes place.
We expect this recovery to last all day on Saturday 29th April 2023, and will provide an update on re-opening towards the end of the day.
