Third Party contractors, Northern Divers Ltd on behalf of Lincolnshire County Council, are carrying out a dive survey in Lincoln city centre halfway between the two bridges: Wigford Way Road Bridge 8 on the Fossdyke canal and High Bridge 1 on the River Witham. These works are taking place on 14th April.
The survey is required to assess the underwater condition of a waterside structure to inform the design of a Local authority emergency footpath repair. A Rib boat will be required by the divers and this will restrict the available navigation width.
The affected footpath will be closed with a diversion in place, the opposite side towpath will remain open.
The navigation will remain open, but boaters may experience delays of up to 30 minutes, to allow contractors to move their boat out of the way.
