Bridge 116, Lock Turnover
RESTRICTION (8am-5pm Wednesday 22 March 2023)
The Highway Structures (Bridges) team will be employing the services of a subcontractor to undertake investigative works at Turnover Bridge.
The team’s subcontractor will access the bridge from a floating pontoon to undertake a series of coring works. The pontoon will be fitted with a scaffold tower to access the arch soffit and walls, with supporting staff operating from the towpath. Passage under the bridge will be partially, if not fully, blocked temporarily.
Boat users may have to hold back temporarily while the pontoon is moved out of the way (wait time no more than 20 minutes). Towpath users may need to wait until site staff on the towpath can permit safe passage under the bridge.
Works anticipated to finish on Wednesday 22nd March taking place over the course of a single day.
