Contractors working on behalf of Cadent Gas need to remove a full length of redundant above ground gas pipework east of Jarvis Bridge.
Works will commence on 09/01/23 and will finish on 20/01/23. One of the access points west of The New Navigation Pub will be closed with Heras Fence panels throughout the works in order to allow contractors to maintain a safe working area.
The removal of the pipe above towpath and canal will take place on Sunday 15/01/23 by a HIAB wagon that will carry out the lifting operation from Wolverhampton Rd. A mobile scaffold tower will be used to ensure safe access and safe working platform to carry out removal works.
Towpath and navigation will remain open from 09/01/2023 to 20/01/23 and pedestrian and boat traffic will be managed by banksmen and signage. We kindly advise towpath users to follow signage and directions given on site. Please take extra care when passing through this area.
