Update on 23/12/2022:

Canal & River Trust are delighted to be able to re-open your towpath.

Given the unforeseen weather conditions, we’ve been unable to lay the surface dressing along the towpath during our autumn programme, but we will be returning in Spring 2023 to complete that element of work.

For now, we hope you enjoy the new surface, which is safe and a huge improvement to its previous condition. We will be publishing more information about when the towpath surface will be dressed in advance of our return

Update on 28/11/2022:

TOWPATH CLOSURE (until 5pm Friday 16 December 2022)

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen bad weather, we have had to extend the programme of work on site to Friday 16th December 2022.

We apologise for the delay for anyone walking there.

TOWPATH CLOSURE (8am Monday 26 September until 5pm Saturday 5 November 2022)

Please be advised that the towpath will be closed from Bridge 103 to Bridge 102 on the Montgomery Canal. This is due to works being carried out to improve the towpath as part of a programme that will run from the 26th September to 5th November.

The towpath will be closed for the duration of the construction period. This is a non-navigable section of canal.
