Footbridge @ Weird Lock
TOWPATH CLOSURE (7am Monday 22 August until 5.30pm Friday 30 September 2022)
Please be advised our team will be onsite at the Weired Staircase Lock on the St. Helens Canal to carry out a repair to the erosion pocket on the north-eastern wall around the lock chamber at the staircase lock.
To maintain a safe working environment, the towpath will be closed whilst we install a diversion around the area of work. We anticipate this will take 3 days, starting Monday 22 August till, and inclusive of, Wednesday 24 August.
Once the diversion has been installed, towpath access will resume via the diversion and signage will be installed onsite.
The repairs are anticipated to take 6 weeks, with a completion date of Friday 30 September, subject to any arising repairs required onsite.
