The Lifting Arm Bridge – Between Lock 1 and Lock 2

Down Stream Winding Hole: Below Lock 2
TOWPATH CLOSURE (8am Monday 30 May until 5pm Wednesday 1 June and 8am Monday 6 June until 5pm Friday 10 June 2022)
Please be advised third-party contractors will be onsite to conduct works at The Lifting Arm Bridge, between Lock 2 & Lock 3 on the Ashton canal.
As a result, the towpath will be closed to all users. However, signage displaying a diversion route will be in place so that our customers can get around these works and back on to the towpath.
Whilst the canal will remain open to navigation, we politely request all customers to approach the area with caution and to listen to any advice that may be given by the third-party contractors onsite.
