Anyone intending to attend one of these events for the first time should contact the organisers beforehand and wear suitable clothing and footwear. If staying all day take a packed lunch unless other arrangement indicated.

Saturday April 29

IWA West Country Branch, Bridgwater: Meet at IWA blue cabin in Bridgwater Docks TA6 3EX at 10am until around 1pm for litter pick along the canal towpath, car sharing to various points. The aim is to cover the full length from Fordgate to Newtown Lock. There are also other areas to clear up as well in the Bridgwater Docks areas and the River Parrett footpaths. There may also be some preparation/painting work to be carried out on some of the structures around the Dock Basins. Taunton: Meet at canal car park, Firepool Lock, Canal Road, 10am until around 1pm for litter pick from Firepool working towards French Weir along the permissive footpath. IWA Ipswich Branch supporting River Gipping Trust:  Pipps Ford (Needham Market, Ipswich, Suffolk IP6 8LJ) or Baylham Mill Lock (Mill Lane, Ipswich, Suffolk IP6 8LG), River Gipping.  Meet at 9am to continue clearing storm damage to Pipps Ford or carry out maintenance at Baylham Mill Lock, finish at 3.30-4pm. Saturday May 6

IWA Great Ouse Branch: Work party to tidy up area around Jesus Lock, Cambridge CB4 3AN, 10am- 4pm. There is no need to stay all day but it is useful for us to know if volunteers are coming for the morning or afternoon. Refreshments  available. Work will include some painting and general tidying/litter picking. The Cam Conservators will provide equipment and materials.  Access to Jesus Lock is restricted and there is no street parking in the area. Chesterfield Canal Trust: Volunteers needed to help clean up Killamarsh Greenway, which is the canal route through the village, from 10 am. Meet at Killamarsh Leisure Centre; bring gloves; other kit will be provided.
