Summer cruising on the Chesterfield Canal

CHESTERFIELD Canal Trust will be holding two Teddy Bears’ Picnic Cruises on Saturday June 16.

Bring your own picnic (or order  from Tapton Lock Visitor Centre) and
Teddy (adults too!!) and sail tobe autiful Bluebank for your picnic
and some exciting family activities.

The Lunch Cruise sails at 11 am andthe Tea Cruise sails at 3 pm. Fares are: Adults £6, Children £4but  all children must be accompanied. Advance booking is essential at Tapton LockVisitor Centre (Tel: 01629 533020).

Catch Chesterfield Canal Trust’s Staveley Packet Boat on Saturday June 23. John Varley II sails at 10 am from Tapton Lock with breaks for lunch at Hollingwood (you can picnic or eat at the Cafe), the n continues into the Staveley Basin.Return to Chesterfield is for 4pm.

The packet boat then runs on the last Saturday of each month. Bookings taken at Tapton Lock Visitor Centre (Tel: 01629 533020). Tea and Coffee available on the boat.
Fares are £21 for adults, £16 for concessions.

Enjoy a summer evening out on a History Cruise on board John Varley II with the Trust’s Rod Auton on Wednesday, June 20 sailing at 7pm. Bring your own refreshments to enjoyas you revel in the past and future.

Fare is £12 per person (no concessions). Bookings are now being taken at the centre on 01629 533020.

The Fish and Chip Supper cruises continue on board John Varley, with a Chesters supper, on Wednesdays June 13, 27 and July 11 and 25, all sailing at 7pm from Tapton Lock Visitor Centre.

Inclusive fare is £16 per person. Bookings are now being taken at the centre on 01629 533020.

John Varley is also running walk-up cruises every Sunday from Tapton Lock.

Madeline is running walk-up cruises every Saturday from Hollingwood Hub.
