September 2016

Screen Shot 2016-08-22 at 10.26.24Colourful boats shone in the summer sun at a host of events across the UK.
The September issue of Towpath Talk takes a detailed look at a selection of summer open days, boating festivals and canalside events that lit up the weekends for thousands of boating enthusiasts, their friends and families.
And there are features on waterways and associated museums and marinas where boaters of all ages and abilities can enjoy their time on the picturesque canals that wind their way through our countryside.
We have plenty of news, too, including an item on newly completed canalside heritage homes and comments from a celebrity chef about the popular Lion Salt Works Museum celebrating a National Lottery Award.
If you have a dog and are wondering whether he or she will take to life on the water, read our feature on canines that have taken to canals like… well, a duck to water!
And if you’re a first-timer looking for a boat, or a seasoned boater thinking of investing in a newer model, we have more than 250 for sale in the pages of the latest Towpath Talk newspaper.
Don’t forget, too, if you know someone who gives up their spare time to make our canals a better place, you can nominate them for our 2016 Volunteer of the Year award.
