Denver Lock & Salters Lode Lock

RESTRICTION (Tuesday 31 August 2022 until further notice)

Following this summer’s drought condition and with low fluvial flows, siltation has once again
built up on the tidal approaches to both Salters Lode & Denver Locks. Locking windows are therefore currently restricted and reduced in frequency.

Before attempting any crossings at present, we advise contacting the relevant lock keepers at Denver Lock on 01366 382913 and for Salters Lode Lock call 01366 382292 and to do this as far in advance as possible so they can advise if locking will be possible. Please note that there may be some days where crossings will not be able to take place.
The Tidal River for craft traversing between Denver and Salters Lode and for craft navigating the Hundred Foot and Great Ouse Tidal Rivers between Earith and Kings Lynn also remains affected with silt banks present
and constantly changing within the channel. In addition, river users may experience difficulties with increased risk of craft grounding within the Tidal River and whilst approaching locks / structures.
We advise boaters to proceed with extreme caution when going onto the tidal river at present.
