Pumping Station, Lock 56 Back Pump
ADVICE (8am Wednesday 23 March until 5pm Wednesday 30 March 2022)
The navigation and towpath will remain open. Contractors will be working to replace the current outdated back-pumping system used to maintain water levels. Works will include the installation of a new automatic pump and SCADA control panel.
For these works to be completed safely, the water level within the basin will have to be kept at a slightly lower level than normal during the works. This is to allow for the pump well to be drained and the new pump to be installed. Please bear with us, as normal water levels will be restored once the new pump has been installed and commissioned.
