TOWPATH CLOSURE (8am Monday 5 December 2022 until 5pm Saturday 15 April 2023)
Please be advised that third-party contractors will be onsite between Bridge 74a, Locketts bridge and Bridge 76, Morris Change bridge on the Macclesfield Canal.
The third-party contractors, working for the council will be carrying out repairs to the A527 highway bridge using scaffolding on both sides of the canal.
The towpath will be closed from 9/1/2023 to 15/4/2023 and a diversion route will be in place.
Although the navigation will remain open, we politely request all customers to approach the area with caution and be prepared to wait for a short time if necessary whilst equipment is moved out of the way.
Please take note of the signage and to listen to any advice that may be given by the third-party contractors onsite.
