We are pleased to advise the tree obstructing the towpath and navigation has been removed and the canal is now open between Bridge 14, Shaws Swing Bridge and Bridge 15, Methodist Swing Bridge on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal.
NAVIGATION CLOSURE (9am Tuesday 22 February 2022 until further notice)
Please be advised the towpath and navigation is closed between Bridge 14, Shaws Swing Bridge and Bridge 15, Methodist Swing Bridge on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal due to a windblown tree.
Please note, due to the ongoing adverse weather, there is a high demand on our contractors across the North West. We will endeavour to remove this obstruction as soon as able.
