Bridge 6, Netherton Swing Bridge
Update on 28/02/2022:
We are pleased to advise the damaged barrier has now been repaired at Bridge 6, Netherton Swing Bridge on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal and navigation has resumed.
Update on 25/02/2022:
Please be advised navigation remains closed at Bridge 6, Netherton Swing Bridge on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal whilst due to a damaged barrier as a result of the recent storms.
Our contractors are awaiting the specialist parts that are required to fix the bridge and anticipate they will arrive over the weekend, with hope they can then attend on Monday 28 February to complete the repair.
A further update will be provided Monday 28 February.

Please be advised navigation remains closed at Bridge 6, Netherton Swing Bridge on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal due to a damaged barrier as a result of the recent storms.
Our contractors have been to site to assess the damage and are now awaiting specialist parts to be able to repair the bridge.
NAVIGATION CLOSURE (12noon Monday 21 February 2022 until further notice)
Please be advised navigation is closed at Bridge 6, Netherton Swing Bridge on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal due a damaged barrier caused by the recent storms. Our contractors have been informed and will be on site as soon as safely possible to repair the damaged barrier.
Please note, due to the ongoing adverse weather, there is a high demand on our contractors across the North West.
