EVENT (10am Monday 25 July until 4pm Tuesday 9 August 2022)
2022 is an exciting year in the West Midlands as the region welcomes the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. We are keen to welcome as many of our boaters as we can, so you can celebrate this wonderful year with us and bring the colour and life to our waterways for visitors to enjoy.
To help this, all other visitor moorings within Birmingham City centre will change to 4 days for the period of the Games. This will cover the area in between Vincent Street bridge, Farmers Bridge top lock (including Cambrian Wharf) and Granville Street.
Available moorings will be clearly marked on signs and bollards. Many of these moorings are suitable for those with additional access needs, and there will be opportunities for double mooring in busy periods, so we ask you to be considerate and make room for others.
You can find out more about mooring in the West Midlands during the Games, and opportunities for moorings at and travel to the various Games locations across the region, at canalrivertrust.org.uk/about-us/where-we-work/west-midlands/commonwealth-games-2022
If you’ve got any special requirements, or would like to know more details, please contact our regional enquiries team. During the Games, we’ll be monitoring these moorings at least once a day, and if you require any further information during your stay, look out for Trust representatives on the towpath, or call in at our information centre at Cambrian House, B1 2AN.
