CROFTON Beam Engines, home to the world’s oldest working steam driven beam engine, is open on selected dates (December 7, January 21 and February 18; 11am to 3pm) when visitors will be able to observe winter maintenance works in action and see behind the scenes.
These open days have proved very popular in previous years and once again visitors will be able to take guided tours and talk to the volunteers as Crofton works towards reopening at Easter 2020. Free entry.
Crofton Beam Engines is on the north side of the Kennet & Avon Canal near to its highest point. See http://www.croftonbeamengines.org/
